Sun Rises, Sun Falls

At sunrise, I peel the blinds and open my window

As the sun falls, I let the dark eat me as I plunge into my pillow

I’ve learned to accept darkness and brightness living in harmony

Sometimes I’m sad, sometimes I’m happy

Half the world bathes in sunlight, the other half drowns in moonlight

As for me, I surrender to the hazy twilight

There’s an angel on my right shoulder

And a devil on my left

But I only listen to the guy in between

So my day of reckoning has arrived

And my inner-peace has survived

Knowing the sun will rise

As fast as it will demise.
