In a Denver State of Mind

I stand here a mile high

Asking why

Why did I ever go?

Maybe it’s because I can obtain this Denver state of mind wherever I go.

The Land Shark

There’s that thing floating out of the dark

The locals call it the land shark

It can smell blood from miles away

It’s the most vicious thing in this suburban bay

It hunts to kill

And rarely fits the bill

It floats on land but walks on water

Searching for the easiest slaughter

It doesn’t eat humans

It eats land

Smoking fat Cubans

And gobbling up sand

It doesn’t famine it feasts

It’s one of the biggest baddest beasts

Get in the way of his hungry bite

And be prepared to see the light

Once it gets its dinner

It’s back to its house

Call him a winner

And take off her blouse

The land shark is as happy as can be

He’s king of the suburban sea

Got no troubles

Just keeps blowin’ his bubbles

World of Remixes

Give it the personal touch
With a pinch of shine
And all things such
Needed to make it fine

Nothing is created
It’s all just related
Facts aren’t stated
Opinions are just debated

Everything is rehashed
Records are made to be smashed
In this world of remixes
You’ve got to make the fixes

The Bright Island

The weary winds throw me to the bright shore
The brightness of the burning palm blinds me
Darkness I can see no more
At last I am finally free

A beautiful maiden attends to my many scars
She tells me stories of how she got here
I tell her stories of all the lost nights behind bars
Then she pours me a glass of my favorite beer

We share stories all night under the blue moon
The flames of the palm trees grow higher
This all seems to be happening to soon
Could this true love ever transpire?

How could I ever fulfill her needs?
When her island is stock full of fruit
And my island has nothing but weeds
But I’ve never seen a girl look so cute

I shall overcome this impending anxiety
But it’s hard to relax my mind
In a time of painful sobriety
I let her shine tear me from this bind

I have finally bridged the suburban sea
With the power of this bright isle
That has sparked and revived me
And finally let me discover my own style
