I’m sick of this country
We’re sick of you
I don’t belong here
We don’t want you here
Where will I go
Someplace far, far away
Perhaps a valley that lies between two monstrous peaks
What will I do in this valley?
There are millions of bewildered souls residing here
Living in their final frontier
From a peak on either side
Dreams of the people would collide
One lightless January moon
All I could hear was a yearning wolf’s croon
The souls were being driven to the mighty Devil’s peak
They were just grey silhouettes floating and they couldn’t speak
Somewhere in the valley floor
Lied a luring but hidden door
Only the strongest souls will be able to find it
The weak will be purged from the valley and cast into the Devil’s pit
Several days past as I waited outside the secret door
Waiting for a few souls to find this discrete area of the valley floor
A several hundred years more flew by and no souls ever came
My ravaged heart was lit by a lonely flame
Waiting another second outside this door wasn’t even a choice
My shaky hand turned the knob and I was guided by a mystifying voice
Being the only worthy soul, I deemed myself the door master
One day, I peered through the key hole and saw a traumatic disaster
The estranged souls were being swallowed by a chaotic panic
The sight was so painfully tragic
I sent signs and directions to the hidden door for the fading souls
They kept slipping into deeper and deeper holes
They will never find this godforsaken door; suddenly I hear a powerful knock
The hampering sound places me in a weary state of shock
I anxiously open the door; only to find the Devil standing on the lonely porch
Satan offered me a very attractive deal to join the growing torch
He offered green things, gold things, and luxurious diamond rings
The only thing I wanted was the kindred spirits of worthy human beings
The light from the burning souls shined through the Devil’s eye
Maybe saving them was worth one more try
I cut off the Devil’s outstretched hand and drowned spirits flow out upon waves of happiness
I decide to take just two of the disemboweled spirits and cast them into another mystical valley
A lush valley full of temptation and great things in store
Just how long will I have to wait for a knock on this overtly hidden door?
