Civilization...

The constant motion
Wonderings about the ocean
Applications of the aloe lotion
Discovering the next miracle potion
Being guided to the desired emotion
Struggling with all the chaotic commotion
Time to take a deep breath and reassess the situation

Every day we look to advance
Find a new way to stitch the pants
Conjure up the best spray to kill all the ants
Plan the best possible route to an imperfect romance
Think and think about what may just be a game of chance

Hoping for a way to avoid burn out
Praying for an absolute end to drought
For that is what civilization is all about

Collision Course

I take a deep breath

Hold it in til it burns my lungs

Until it stings my throat

Until I choke, choke, choke

On the demons that are stuck inside

Will death spare me one more ride?

As I purge out the darkness

Angels heal my bruised lungs

But it’s gonna take a miracle to save my tattered soul

To fill such a colossal hole

In my burnt out heart

And to fuel such a needed restart

I’m on a collision course with death

But life keeps giving me one more breath

Vancouver Riots

They’re rioting in the street

All because of a 7th game defeat

The black smoke darkens the atmosphere

As the rioters finish off their beer

A few bystanders are struck down

Hell enters this once peaceful town

Its time for the men in black to save the day

As the rioters continue to pray

Pray that the violence will somehow change the outcome

The police march and beat their feet like a roaring bass drum

A few cans of tear gas are thrown

As a crying lady starts to moan

The black strikes her to the ground

Her boyfriend kneels down

And kisses her sickened frown

The air is now a muddy brown

The police stop the riots with shields and sticks

But it’s the armor-less man who will receive all the pics

Vancouver has a new hero

The prince who saved the riot princess

From all the distress

Surrounding such a simple game.
