5th and Speer

If you’re not comfortable with yourself

How could you ever be with someone else?

If you don’t like the way you look

Then make a change for yourself

That’s all the advice it took for johnny to change

Johnny is now free from the range

For he has forgotten his childish past

He raises a different flag on a new mast

John found God on the corner of 5th and Speer

Now Johnny has nothing to fear

He is a man now

For he is forgiven

Nothing stays trapped in his chest

Yeah John is the best

For he found God on the corner of 5th and Speer

Now he has no thing to fear

Except losing his faith

But that won’t happen

If he holds on to that cheer

And now I just heard

That John won man of the year

He gave all his thanks to God

And everyone applauded

Because he stuck to his plan

Yeah John is the man

Whether you’re man of the year

Or you’re  a nobody no one wants to hear

Just meet at the corner of 5th and Speer

Find yourself some of that blissful cheer

Because the sky is so clear

When you forget all of your fears

Don’t let those clouds haunt you

They’re just there to taunt you

Make those clouds evaporate

Don’t turn them into sources of hate

So it’s always sunny in John’s mind

No he’s not blind

It just took him some time to find

That righteous source of energy

But what did Johnny really find down there

On the corner of 5th and Speer?

For he has lost all of his fear

But where the hell is his flair?
